100 High Performance Small Cap Stocks

Trillion-dollar mega cap quasi-monopolies like Google, Apple and Amazon are pushing into everything from autonomous driving and entertainment to financial services and healthcare. And judging from their stock prices, the bigger these companies get, the more Wall Street applauds.

But being small, specialized and great—a hedgehog among foxes—is still a recipe for success, especially in a recovering economy.

Take Collectors Universe, a $700 million market capitalization company that grades collectibles like baseball cards, rare coins, stamps and autographs. It is the authenticator of millions of memorabilia items, like Mike Trout’s rookie card, Ted Williams’ autograph and 19th-century Morgan silver dollars. In the collectibles market, the Santa Ana, California-based

Nationwide Marketing Group Launches Dedicated Performance Groups for Servicing Dealers

Peer groups provide networking support and exclusive training opportunities to members who service appliances

Although Linley Dew grew up in the appliance sales and service business, he still wondered sometimes, as a second-generation co-owner, how his store was performing compared to others of a similar size. Especially when it came to service.

“Before I was in any kind of networking group, I felt like I was on an island for my business,” recalls Dew, whose parents founded the family-owned appliance and HVAC business Dew’s in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., in 1947. “There was no one I could talk to. But once I started reaching out to other independent retailers, I found a network that I could share things with, and I didn’t feel so alone. They kept me from going down rabbit holes and helped me stay on the right track to make

Apple execs talk M1, chip specs versus real-world performance in interview

Apple’s M1 chip was designed with actual real-world performance in mind and not the on paper specifications usually touted by chipmakers, according to a trio of Apple executives.

Software chief Craig Federighi, SVP of Worldwide Marketing Greg Joswiak and hardware SVP Johny Srouji, recently spoke to True Ventures partner and journalist Om Malik to explain how the Apple Silicon chip differs from its competitors.

For one, Federighi said that the specifications “typically bandied about in the industry” have stopped being a predictor of real-world performance.

“Architecturally, how many streams of 4k or 8k video can you process simultaneously while performing certain effects? That is the question video professionals want an answer to. No spec on the chip is going to answer that question for them,” Federighi said.

Companies like Intel and AMD use metrics like gigahertz and power because they are primarily component makers, and can charge higher prices for

Basically, the process provides visibility into the performance of components through the analysis of metrics. From these metrics, developers can create visualizations and derive insights that help determine the health of the system.

Solingen, Germany-based Instana, which was founded in 2015 by Mirko Novakovic, Pete Abrams, Fabian Lange, and Pavlo Baron as a spinoff of Codecentric, sells software that leverages AI to monitor
