Verizon’s Galaxy S20 models are the first to get Android 11 and One UI 3.0

Verizon revealed this morning that Samsung’s Galaxy S20 lineup will be the first Samsung phones to receive Android 11 and Samsung’s One UI 3.0 in the US, and now the software has already started trickling out to customers, according to Droid Life. One UI 3.0 has been in public beta for the last two months, but this marks the official release of the final software.

One UI 3.0 has the messaging, notifications and security features of Android 11, along with some add-ons specific to One UI. Samsung has added easier ways to access widgets, take screenshots, and double-tap the screen to put your phone to sleep, to name a few, but if you want a more exhaustive list of all of the One UI 3.0 changes, you can check out this roundup at Android Police.

Samsung Galaxy Note series could get one last phone before its demise

  • Samsung could launch at least one Galaxy Note series phone next year.
  • This could be the last Galaxy Note before Samsung puts the series out to pasture.
  • The phone is expected to debut in the second half of 2021.

There might be at least one Galaxy Note next year before Samsung puts the series out to pasture. Korean media outlet ET News reports that Samsung will eventually merge the Galaxy S and Note lines by adding an S-Pen to the former. However, the company might still launch a Galaxy Note series phone, presumably the Galaxy Note 21, next year.

This isn’t the first we’re hearing of Samsung scrapping the Note series altogether. Just last week, another Korean business daily reported that Samsung will add the S-Pen to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3, discontinuing the Note series for good. The latest

Samsung’s next Galaxy Buds could ditch this Galaxy Buds Live feature

  • A new leak suggests that the next Galaxy Buds won’t be shaped like beans.
  • The upcoming TWS earbuds are expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S21 series.
  • They’re said to come with an improved Ambient mode and ANC.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live caused quite a stir in the TWS market with their unique bean-shaped form factor. However, if a new leak is to be believed, Samsung will ditch the design on the wireless earbuds it plans to launch alongside the Galaxy S21 series.

According to SamMobile, the new Galaxy Buds launching next year will look more like the original Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Buds Plus. They’ll apparently sport the regular in-ear design as opposed to the concha-fitting shell of the Galaxy Buds Live. I personally prefer the former over the latter for its comfortable fit but you might beg to differ

  • A Korean outlet reports that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy S21 Ultra will get an S-Pen.
  • It adds that the Galaxy Note series will therefore be discontinued.
  • The outlet also claims that the Z Fold 3 will launch in June 2021.

We’ve already heard murmurings that Samsung is working to add the S-Pen to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and its Z Fold 3 foldable, with the fate of the Galaxy Note series hanging in the balance. Now, a new report out of Korea has only echoed these claims.

Korean business daily Aju News reports that Samsung intends to add the Galaxy Note’s S-Pen stylus to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Furthermore, the outlet claims that the Z Fold 3 will offer a slot for the S-Pen and that the foldable will launch in June 2021.

Bungie’s DeeJ Moves To Iron Galaxy To Work On New Melee Combat Game

Veteran Bungie staffer David “DeeJ” Dague left the Destiny studio earlier this year, and now he’s landed at Iron Galaxy Studios.

The studio announced that Dague–the former communications director at Bungie–will be the head of communications for Iron Galaxy as it begins work on a new IP. Additionally, Iron Galaxy has appointed Chelsea Blakso as co-CEO alongside Adam Boyes, the former PlayStation boss.

Very little is known about Iron Galaxy’s new game, however, apart from the fact that it will be a “new multiplayer melee combat IP for consoles and PC.”

“Video games bring people together in the spirit of friendly competition,” Dague said in a statement. “This opportunity with Iron Galaxy is a chance to welcome players into a community that we will build with them. There is nothing more exciting than witnessing players discover a brand-new game and come together to define its culture. I’m thrilled to be

  • Two more tipsters have suggested that Samsung might not be working on new Note devices.
  • This would echo a report earlier this year, alleging that foldables could replace the Note line.

We previously heard that Samsung could abandon the Galaxy Note series in 2021 in favor of the Galaxy Fold lineup. It would be a major shakeup for the firm, but at least two more sources have revealed info suggesting this could indeed be the case.

Android Police writer Max Weinbach asserted on Twitter that Samsung is expected to offer four Galaxy S21 phones and three foldables in 2021. These phones are the Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Z Flip 3, Z Fold 3, and Z Fold FE. In other words, he doesn’t list the Note series anywhere. Check out the tweet below.

Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch its Galaxy S21 phones in January, and now it looks like we’ve got leaked specs for the Galaxy S21 smartphones. Max Weinbach over at Android Police published the specs Saturday, saying they’d been confirmed through multiple sources. Samsung didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on Weinbach’s report.

Display
Both the Galaxy S21 and the S21 Plus reportedly have 120Hz, FHD+ format, LTPS (low-temperature polycrystalline silicon) displays. The S21’s is a 6.2 inch, and the S21 Plus sports a 6.7 inch. The S21 Ultra reportedly has a 1-120Hz adaptive, WQHD+ format, LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) display that’s 6.8 inches. The Ultra will support the S Pen but the pen won’t be integrated with the phone, Weinbach says (as others have as well). Instead, Samsung reportedly plans to sell cases that store

The latest report of a Samsung Galaxy S21 leak (which we have been calling the Galaxy S30 until now) is a pretty extensive one.
