Fantasy Basketball Rankings: 2020-21 projections from proven computer model

Before making any picks in your 2020 Fantasy basketball drafts, you need to see the rankings from SportsLine’s Fantasy basketball model. This model, developed by pro DFS player and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, simulates the entire NBA season 10,000 times to produce the most exact and accurate Fantasy rankings imaginable.

McClure has used this model to help him win almost $2 million in daily Fantasy sports, and it also powers his season-long NBA rankings. The projections can help you create a draft strategy that ensures you have the depth necessary to survive what could be another challenging season.

One thing we can tell you from McClure’s 2020 Fantasy basketball rankings: the model is extremely high on Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Gilgeous Alexander is going off at No. 73 overall, according to the latest ADP, but McClure’s model has him at No. 37 overall. Another surprise: Pelicans guard JJ

Patrick Byrne, the founder of, is no stranger to controversial topics. He was asked to step down as CEO of the company last year when he had a relationship with a Russian spy, and now, he’s claiming he knows how to fix the fraud in the election.

Like Trump’s accusations, Byrne believed that the Democrats had something to do with the election and how Joe Biden had so many votes.

He told Youtube channels and various podcasts this past week that he has funded an army of hackers, cybersleuths and people with odd skills to crack the fraud, according to The Daily Beast.

A bug in Spider Man: Miles Morales gives us the web-swinging patio lamp hero we deserve

As any avid gamer knows, bugs and glitches are part of the deal. Sometimes they take gameplay to a whole other level, as seems to be the case with Spider Man: Miles Morales where players unexpectedly turned into inanimate objects, including a patio space heater (there’s a probably joke there about great power and great responsibility but we’re above puns at The Verge dot com) (spoiler: we totally are not).

The patio heater incident was weird enough, but it’s not the only strange inanimate object to abruptly replace a player in-game:

It’s possible this Spider-Man glitch may eventually rank up there with the funniest in-game weirdness. There was the bug in Half-Life 2 that left NPCs unable to blink, the numerous oddities including misplaced obelisks in Microsoft Flight Simulator, and of course who can forget the patch for The Sims 4 that caused some of the sims

Ethical AI isn’t the same as trustworthy AI, and that matters

Artificial intelligence (AI) solutions are facing increased scrutiny due to their aptitude for amplifying both good and bad decisions. More specifically, for their propensity to expose and heighten existing societal biases and inequalities. It is only right, then, that discussions of ethics are taking center stage as AI adoption increases.

In lockstep with ethics comes the topic of trust. Ethics are the guiding rules for the decisions we make and actions we take. These rules of conduct reflect our core beliefs about what is right and fair. Trust, on the other hand, reflects our belief that another person — or company — is reliable, has integrity and will behave in the manner we expect. Ethics and trust are discrete, but often mutually reinforcing, concepts.

So is an ethical AI solution inherently trustworthy?

Context as a trust determinant

Certainly, unethical systems create mistrust. It does not follow, however, that an ethical

Amazon Web Services explains Wednesday outage

Within a few hours, the malfunctions began hitting customers of Amazon Web Services, the company’s cloud-computing unit. Customers of the Amazon-owned Ring security camera service couldn’t log in or watch video. Users struggled to operate their iRobot vacuum cleaners because the outage affected the iRobot Home app. And media companies, including The Washington Post (owned by Amazon founder and chief executive Jeff Bezos), experienced publishing system outages.

Amazon acknowledged that the system failure was exacerbated by the co-dependencies its various services have on one another. The company had been trying to add capacity to its Amazon Kinesis service that customers use to process real-time data including video, audio and application logs. To resolve the issue, Amazon needed to restart a piece of its system it described as “many thousands of servers,” a lengthy process that had to be done gradually. But because other Amazon cloud services rely on Kinesis, including
